  2. Taylor Swift has been famously open about her love life in her music, but she shares even more details as the cover girl for this spring's edition of Your Prom magazine. The 19-year-old tells the magazine she was 15 before she had her first kiss, and was the last of all her friends to lock lips with a boy.
    Taylor goes on to name Gossip Girl star Chace Crawford her dream date, an interesting choice since he was previously linked to Carrie Underwood.

  1. Staind frontman Aaron Lewis is getting ready to hit the road for his annual post-holiday solo acoustic tour, which starts on Friday in the Green Valley Ranch resort in Henderson, Nevada. Following that and some more touring with Staind, Lewis hopes to begin recording his first solo album in the spring.
  2. Singer Rihanna will be one of the stars performing at the first of two Pepsi-sponsored concerts in the days before the 2009 Super Bowl. Rihanna joins a January 29th lineup also featuring Fall Out Boy and Lifehouse at the National Football League's Pepsi Smash Super Bowl Bash at Tampa, Florida's Ford Amphitheatre.
  3. Ashlee Simpson and Fall Out Boy's Pete Wentz introduced their 1-month-old son, Bronx Mowgli, on Christmas day with a holiday e-card photograph that reads: "Happy Holidays to all of our friends! Love Pete, Ashlee and Bronx." The couple writes, "We decided to share the best gift we could ever receive with you: Bronx Mowgli Wentz. We couldn't be happier. And in the spirit of the holidays, we'd like to encourage you to give on your own.”

  1. OneRepublic has been working on new material and plans to release its sophomore album in 2009. The group has already been performing one of the new songs, "All the Right Moves," at its most recent concerts. A few other songs have already been written, and the guys plan to hit the studio in February.
  2. Comedic actor-director Ben Stiller needed a trip to the hospital after breaking his hand in a snowboarding mishap over the weekend. The 43-year-old performer's publicist confirmed that he was treated for a fracture Sunday.
  3. Emmy winner Tina Fey has been voted the Associated Press' Entertainer of the Year for 2008. Fey's spot-on impersonation of Republican vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin during cameo appearances on her former home, Saturday Night Live, helped drive the show to record ratings and eventually prompted an appearance by Palin herself.

  1. The tanking economy seems to be having a bad effect on everything except Nickelback concerts. According to LiveDaily.com, promoter Live Nation reported that ticket sales for the band's upcoming North American tour are 20 percent ahead of the numbers for the group's last trek in 2007. About 210,000 tickets, equaling 70 percent of all available seats, have been sold since they went on sale December 5th. The tour kicks off on February 25th in Nashville.
  2. Barenaked Ladies have a lot in store for 2009. The Canadian group is planning to put together a boxed set for next fall, as well as a tour to celebrate its 20th anniversary. The collection will feature demos and unreleased songs, along with tons and tons of songs and videos. They're also working on music for a new album and could hit the studio next summer to lay down some tracks.
  3. Celebrity website TMZ.com reports the burglar who broke into Paris Hilton's house last week was caught on tape by surveillance cameras. But identification might be a problem, as the thief was wearing a mask, gloves and a hooded sweatshirt. Whoever it was allegedly made off with $2 million dollars worth of jewelry and other goodies. Police still don't have a suspect.

  1. The Jonas Brothers will debut a new song called "Love is on Its Way" in their upcoming flick, Jonas Brothers: the 3-D Concert Experience hitting theaters February 27, 2009.
  2. First she's named best new artist by Billboard and now a different distinction, British singer Leona Lewis has been named the Person of the Year by PETA. Lewis was recognized by the animal rights' group for her commitment to animal welfare.
  3. Britney Spears is apparently a hot ticket for American Idol. MTV.com reports that judge Simon Cowell would love to have her on the show next season as a performer or a mentor. He says the pop star would be first on his list of guest appearances.
  4. The nominations for the 15th annual Screen Actors Guild Awards were announced yesterday and Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt were again named contenders for lead actor and actress awards for their respective films, Changeling and The Curious Case of Benjamin Button. The awards are scheduled to air on January 25th.

  2. Bad news if you're a No Doubt fan. They recently hinted about the release of a studio album to coincide with a 2009 tour. But drummer Adrian Young now says the group probably won't have a new set by next year.
  3. Amid rumors that their marriage is in trouble, Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony stepped out for a romantic dinner in Beverly Hills on Tuesday night. People magazine reports that the couple was spotted kissing and feeding one another meatballs during their meal.
  4. Tom Cruise planned a special night for wife Katie Holmes yesterday, the eve of her 30th birthday. Cruise revealed to Ryan Seacrest that Holmes will be working on stage in Broadway's All My Sons during the big day so they celebrated early.

  1. Pink will perform a special New Year's Eve show in Las Vegas this year. She's performing at the Hard Rock Hotel's Wasted Space, the club owned by her ex-husband, motocross star Carey Hart. Reconnecting or will a fight break out? Pink's official website is giving free tickets away via an online contest.
  2. Britney Spears is enjoying her trip across the world to promote her new album. She's already spent some time in Germany and England, and her latest visit included a stop in Japan. She posted a clip of her performance on the Japanese TV show, Hey! Hey! Hey!, on her official website and writes, "I love Japan! I think all the tiny cars are so cute!" You can see the same thing if you look at the streets of Toronto from the top of the CN tower.
  3. Katy Perry reportedly got engaged to her boyfriend, Gym Glass Heroes frontman Travis McCoy. According to the New York Daily News, he recently proposed while they were in Paris by kissing Perry and surprising her with a massive ring hidden in his mouth.

  1. The Fray is finalizing details of its second album, due out February 3rd. The first single, "You Found Me," has already been released and is gaining momentum, selling 278,000 copies.
  2. Taylor Swift's 19th birthday on Saturday was a low-key affair, according to People.com. Her family and friends, including the members of her band, gathered at the family home in Hendersonville, just north of Nashville. Swift was in charge of her own celebration, planning a buffet dinner with sushi, mini beef Wellingtons and bacon-wrapped scallops. Dessert consisted of a couple of ice cream cakes.
  3. Two of the biggest-selling albums of the year got there without either one being available at iTunes or almost any other digital outlet, according to AntiMusic.com. Kid Rock's late 2007 release, Rock 'n' Roll Jesus, was the third best-selling album of 2008 as of the beginning of December, while AC/DC's Black Ice came in right behind Rock at Number Four. Rock finally allowed the Rhapsody online service to begin exclusively selling the record this fall, and it has moved 3,000 digital copies as a result. Meanwhile, AC/DC has sold 1.6 million copies of Black Ice exclusively through Wal-Mart since October, without any sales in digital download form.

  1. 3 Doors Down has confirmed its first tour dates of 2009. The band will kick off a string of gigs on January 22nd in Pennsylvania with Hinder along FOR THE first three dates. Only seven shows have been announced so far, with more on the way.

  2. Miley Cyrus is apparently popular among some lawyers. According to E! Online, she performed at a law firm's private holiday party over the weekend in Houston. The 16-year-old star arrived in town Saturday night to play Lanier Law Firm's "Christmas Cheers and Charity" party. The annual bash attracts more than 7,000 guests.

  3. Fall Out Boy bassist Pete Wentz has dismissed rumors that he and wife Ashlee Simpson plan to sell the first pictures of their newborn son, Bronx, to a celebrity magazine for as much as $2 million. Wentz said they just don’t want to go down that road with him.

  4. British songstress Leona Lewis has been named Billboard magazine's Top New Artist of 2008. Lewis earned the title based on the success of her hit single "Bleeding Love" and the selling strength of her debut album Spirit.

  2. Kid rock is taking on People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals over his insistence on wearing fur. He criticized PETA for incidents where they threw red pain on celebrities in fur and says they’re picking on little Hollywood actresses who can’t defend themselves.
  3. British singer Lily Allen is getting ready to her new album by sobering up. She’s staying clear of alcohol and drugs and has done so since September 22nd. Her new album is coming out next year.
  4. You never know what to expect from Ellen Degeneres but tune into her show December 16th and I can tell you what you’ll see. She’ll be singing Christmas Carols with Britney in the streets of Los Angeles. Spears wore a red crushed velvet gown, a shawl and a bonnet while DeGeneres wore a mistletoe-topped bonnet with a matching green crushed velvet dress.

  1. Actor Paul Benedict -- who was best known for his role as the British neighbor Mr. Bentley on The Jeffersons -- was found dead yesterday in his Martha's Vineyard home. He was 70 years old.
  2. Katy Perry knows she makes outrageous wardrobe decisions sometimes. The pop star tells Page Six magazine, "I'm definitely going to be on the worst-dressed lists." But Perry adds that she just wants to have fun with her style, explaining, "I don't take my life too seriously."
  3. Paris Hilton is reportedly trying to land the role of Tinkerbell in Disney's upcoming live-action version of Tinkerbell. A source told the New York Post, "Paris has worked really hard on her acting chops lately and showed some comedic prowess in her YouTube spoof of running for president. A Disney suit saw it and think she may be developing some comedic-actress potential."
  4. Although they announced their separation earlier this year, David Duchovny and Tea Leoni are reportedly still trying to make their marriage work. Star magazine claims that the pair has been spotted engaging in some public displays of affection around their New York City neighborhood.

  1. Former Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker and his friend D.J. AM will perform together on New Year's Eve for the first time since surviving a plane crash in South Carolina in September, according to the Associated Press.
  2. Britney Spears celebrates her 27th birthday today (Tuesday, December 2nd) with the release of her sixth studio album, Circus. The much-hyped set has been generating a lot of buzz thanks to the success of Spears' hit single, "Womanizer,".
  3. Creed is officially working on the details for a 2009 reunion tour, according to Billboard.com. Creed disbanded in June of 2004, with singer Scott Stapp pursuing a solo career. Since leaving Creed, Scott Stapp has not had a smooth ride. He has been arrested for domestic abuse and public drunkenness, gotten into a fight in a hotel with members of 311, been to rehab and was scandalized by a sex tape that surfaced featuring him and Kid Rock on a bus with several women.

  1. 326,000 copies in its first week. That’s the sales for Nickelback’s Dark Horse album. That put it at Number Two on the Billboard album chart last Wednesday. Although the new CD is on track to do as well as the band's last record, bassist Mike Kroeger said they took no special measures to repeat that success: Dark Horse was beaten for the chart's top spot by Beyonce's I Am Sasha Fierce, which moved 482,000 copies.
  2. Britney Spears had an early birthday bash in the U.K. over the weekend. Her 27th birthday isn't until tomorrow, but according to People.com, she had a party in a British nightclub and was spotted blowing out the candles on a cake resembling the cover of her new album, Circus.
  3. Alex Rodriguez spent time with both his family and his gal pal Madonna over Thanksgiving weekend. According to the New York Daily News, the Yankees slugger celebrated Thanksgiving with his family in Miami before taking off around 4 p.m. to visit Madge's nearby Star Island home. And the night before, he supported Madonna at her South Florida concert by cheering her on at the show and even passing her water bottles in between songs.

  1. Britney Spears performed her song "Womanizer" at the Bambi awards on Thursday night in an outfit that looked a lot like what Madonna wears on her current concert tour. Brit was decked out in top hat, black hot pants, sheer top, stockings and high heel boots. She didn't do a lot of dancing, but she definitely looked much better than she did at last year's MTV Video Music Awards.
  2. Axl Rose is suing Dr Pepper for what he calls a botched giveaway. Dr Pepper had promised everyone in America except Slash and Buckethead a free soda if the Guns N' Roses album ``Chinese Democracy'' came out this year. It was released Sunday. Dr Pepper agreed to give away coupons through its website that day, but demand was so overwhelming many fans could not connect. Dr Pepper extended the giveaway by 18 hours but Rose says that wasn’t good enough. He's demanding a full-page apology in several large newspapers, an expanded time period for fans to get the free coupons, and an appropriate payment, although he does not say how much.
  3. Jason Mraz doesn't just stay in hotel rooms. He turns them into what he calls ``little kitchens.'' And spends most of his time preparing food including a “Super smoothie” which has about 24 ingredients including a whole Avocado. Drink it up Jason.

  2. English singer Sarah Brightman is back in Canada and says she's thrilled to return to the country that was one of the first to embrace her music. But while she loves Canada's culture and food, and says she felt like she "became part of the city" while shooting a movie in Toronto last year, don't expect to see the world's best-selling soprano too much on the streets. She had her first taste of Canadian winter when she arrived in Montreal on Tuesday and stayed indoors to save her voice for her national tour.
  3. Britney Spears may have yet to earn back custody of her sons, but she claims that her ex Kevin Federline isn't the best influence either. In the Dec. 11 issue of Rolling Stone, the "Womanizer" singer claims that her former husband has taught her son Sean Preston some unsavory language, including the F-word. Spears has been focusing more on motherhood to Sean Preston, 3, and Jayden James, 2, now that she won more visitation time with the boys. In the interview, she opens up about her bad dating experiences and how she prefers to stay at home instead.

  2. Nickelback has announced the dates and venues for a North American tour that will begin on February 25th in Nashville, Tennessee, hitting over 30 cities before winding down in late April. They’ll be performing in Toronto on March 2nd at the Air Canada Centre.
  3. Amy Winehouse is back in the hospital again. This time it's due to a bad reaction to medication doctors had prescribed for her. There's no word on what kind of medication was involved.
  4. People's Sexiest Man Alive club is obviously exclusive -- and apparently tight-knit. When the honor was bestowed upon Hugh Jackman this year, 2007 title-holder George Clooney called him in the middle of the night to initiate the Australian actor into the sexy circle. Jackman told People, "George Clooney rang me at two in the morning." He joked that the hazing was harsh. "He goes, 'Shut up Jackman! I know what you did! You started this big campaign that's been going on and you took the title away from me.'"

  2. Miley Cyrus got a brand new recording studio in her home for her 16th birthday on Sunday. Her father, Billy Ray Cyrus, told Access Hollywood that despite reports, she didn't want a Mercedes. She hoped to have a place to write and record songs at their house. Miley says, "It's gonna be dope! I'm so stoked."
  3. A newspaper published by China's ruling Communist Party has blasted the new Guns N' Roses album, Chinese Democracy, calling it an attack on the Chinese nation. Chinese paper The Global Times ran a story headlined "American band releases album venomously attacking China," in which unidentified Chinese Internet users described the album as part of a plot by Westerners to "grasp and control the world using democracy as a pawn."
  4. Suri Cruise is a "girly girl," her father Tom Cruise told Entertainment Tonight, adding that the two-year-old only wants to be clothed in dresses. He said, "She won't wear pants. Kate finally got her in jeans the other day. We put the pants on and walk away and the pants are off and the dress is on."

  1. Chris Brown was the big winner at the 2008 American Music Awards Sunday night taking home the Artist Of The Year award. Brown said, "I would have gave it to Coldplay. I'm at a loss for words. I just want to thank all the fans, I really love you with all my heart." Brown also won for Best Male Soul/R&B artist and Best Male Pop/Rock Artist.
    Coldplay started out the night with four nominations, but they failed to win a single award. In addition to Artist Of The Year, they were up for Favorite Pop/Rock Duo or Group, Favorite Album Pop/Rock for Viva La Vida and Favorite Alternative Rock Duo Or Group.
  2. Former Full House star Jodie Sweetin is splitting with her husband just over a year after they married. The 26-year-old filed papers for legal separation from 31-year-old Cody Herpin last Wednesday .
  3. Tobey Maguire and his wife Jennifer Meyer Maguire are expecting their second child. The Spider-Man star's rep confirmed that the baby is due next spring.
  4. Rosie O'Donnell returns to prime time television on Wednesday with her own variety show, appropriately called Rosie Live! The hour-long television event will feature Rosie hosting such celebrity guests as Liza Minnelli, Alec Baldwin, Kathy Griffin, and will also have performances by Ne-Yo and Alanis Morrissette.

Ingredients
12 - slices of bacon
24 - prunes soaked overnight and stoned

Instructions


  1. Cut each slice of bacon across in two.
  2. Place on prune on each bacon slice and wrap up.
  3. Secure with toothpicks
  4. Grill under medium heat, turning frequently until the bacon is crisp.
  5. Drain on paper towel and serve

Recipe Name: Carmel Custard

Ingredients

Custard

  • 4 - eggs
  • 1/2 cup - white sugar
  • 1/4 tsp - salt
  • 1/4 tsp - vanilla
  • 2 cups - hot milk
Carmel

  • 1/2 cup - white sugar
  • 1/4 cup - water

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  2. In a small heavy sauceman or skillet, bring the sugar and water to a boil over high heat, stirring until the sugar dissolves.
  3. Boil Syrup over moderate heat without stirring, until syrup turns a rich golden brown colour.
  4. As soon as syrup reaches right colour, remove the pan from the heat and carefully pour the caramel syrup into the 8 individual moulds.
  5. Tip and swirl the moulds to coat the bottom and sides as evenly as possible.
  6. Prepare the custard and pour into the caramel-lined moulds.
  7. Bake until firm 40-45 minutes.
  8. To test run a sharp knife through the centre. If knife comes out clean, then custard is done.
  9. Serve warm or cold as is or unmould onto serving dishes.

Ingredients
4-6 - mushrooms
1/4 - red pepper
1/4 - green pepper
1/4 - yellow pepper
1/2 - purple onion
1/4 - garlic clove
1 - large round moose steak
1 can - beef broth
1 tbsp - soya sauce
1/2 tsp - oregano
salt and pepper to taste
flour to thicken to gravy consistancy

Instructions
  1. Slice first 7 ingredients into small strips and saute in virgin olive oil until tender.
  2. Remove From pan.
  3. In pan combine 1 can of beef froth, 1 tbsp soya sauce, 1/2 tsp oregano, salt and pepper to taste and thicken with flour to make a gravy.
  4. Add all above sauted indgredients to gravy and heat through.
  5. Serve with mashed potatoes and garlic butter or rice.

The band returns to North America early next month for a new run of shows, and Gallagher said they won't be beefing up security.
  4. A jury decided that Keanu Reeves was not responsible for injuries a paparazzo claimed to have suffered after allegedly being hit by the actor's car. Photographer Alison Silva sued for $711,974 in medical bills, lost wages and punitive damages, alleging that he was struck by Reeve's Porsche in 2007. After the prosecution pointed out contradicting statements by Silva and presented video of him using his injured hand to climb a fence, the jury rejected the case in less than three hours of deliberation.

Already announced are Kanye West, the Jonas Brothers, Alicia Keys, Rihanna, Ne-Yo, New Kids On The Block, Pussycat Dolls, Taylor Swift, Pink and Annie Lennox, with Jimmy Kimmel hosting the event. The AMAs will be held live on November 23rd.
  2. AC/DC's new album, Black Ice, earned the second biggest sales week of 2008 in its first week on shelves, selling 784,000 copies in the U.S. since going on sale at Wal-Mart and Sam's Club on October 20th. Frontman Brian Johnson told us that AC/DC's continued success over the years comes directly from founding guitarists Malcolm and Angus Young.
  3. Actor Bill Pullman's 19-year-old son was arrested in North Carolina on Monday. Jack Pullman was taken into custody for resisting police, underage drinking and having moonshine. He is also facing charges of assaulting a government official.

  1. Barenaked Ladies frontman Steven Page made a plea deal in his drug possession case yesterday, agreeing to go to rehab and stay clean for six months instead of going to prison. Judge Thomas Morgan, in Fayetteville Village Court, said that all the charges against the singer would be dropped if Page keeps his end of the deal. Page pleaded guilty to misdemeanor possession. He had faced up to five and a half years in state prison if convicted of the original charge against him.
  2. Although they haven't confirmed whether their romantic relationship is back on, Sarah Silverman will appear as a guest Thursday night, on her maybe-ex-boyfriend Jimmy Kimmel's late night talk show. After five years of dating, the pair announced their split in July but have since attended Howard Stern's wedding together.
  3. For the second year in a row, Elvis Presley tops the list of Forbes magazine's top-earning dead celebrities. Presley earned a whopping $52 million in the last year, raking in more than living pop stars Justin Timberlake ($44 million) and Madonna ($40 million). John Lennon and Marvin Gaye also made the list of 13 celebrities. Lennon was at seventh place with $9 million and Gaye was listed at Number 13 with $3.5 million.

"Look what else there is to work with in primetime, it would be crazy not to try to keep it alive a little longer." Although ER has gotten a recent ratings boost, the source contends that it's unlikely the show would air another season.
  3. Jury selection began yesterday for a civil trial involving Keanu Reeves. The jurors must decide if the actor owes damages to a paparazzo who fell while shooting pictures of Reeves in 2007. The photographer claims Reeves was pulling out of a parking space when he was knocked down.
  4. Donny and Marie Osmond's Las Vegas variety show has been extended for two more years. The Flamingo Las Vegas announced yesterday that the brother-and-sister team's greatest hits multimedia show will run through 2010.

  2. Taylor Swift sang the National Anthem for her hometown team Saturday night before World Series Game 3. The lifelong Philadelphia Phillies fan wore a World Series jacket and clutched a glittery silver guitar as she sang "The Star Spangled Banner." Even though she's been performing the National Anthem at professional sporting events since she was 11, singing for her favorite team before a World Series game made her particularly anxious. Halfway through the song, Swift says "nerves" really hit her and her knees started shaking, but she pressed on without faltering.
  3. High School Musical 3: Senior Year debuted at the top of the weekend box office, beating out Saw V, the latest film in the bloody horror franchise, which opened in second place. High School Musical 3 is the big-screen sequel to Disney's wildly successful TV movies starring Zac Efron, & Vanessa Hudgens.   1. Britney Spears won't have a new trial in her driver's license case. Prosecutors have decided not to pursue her misdemeanor charge for driving without a valid California driver's license when she hit a parked car and left the scene in August 2007. A jury deliberated for two full days without reaching a decision and were deadlocked 10-to-2 in favour of acquitting her. The case has been dismissed.
  2. Paul McCartney's head has been lost on a train in England. Businessman Joby Carter owns the head and the wax model of McCartney to which it belongs. The model was made in the 1960's and was on display in a museum. He's offering a reward for the head's return.
  3. Neil Diamond will get special recognition from the Grammy people not just for his music, but for his charitable work as well. Diamond has been named the Recording Academy's MusiCares Person of the Year. Diamond has participated with various charities, and most recently has been donating all his merchandise sales from his concerts in Houston, Dallas and Oklahoma City to hurricane relief efforts. Diamond will be honoured with a tribute concert on February 6th, two days before the Grammy Awards.
  4. The Backstreet Boys are going to the World Series. They will perform the U-S national anthem before Game One tonight as the Tampa Bay Rays host the Philadelphia Phillies.

  1. Pink is so passionate about animal rights she's speaking out against Britain's royal family. About two years ago, she wrote a letter to Queen Elizabeth II, asking that the royal guards' bearskins be replaced with synthetic materials. The singer and animal rights activist also demanded that Prince William not participate in any hunting activities or sports. But she apparently hasn't received any responses.
  2. After two days of deliberation, the jury has yet to reach a verdict in Britney Spears' driving-without-a-license case and appears to be deadlocked. A foreman said they'd voted three times since Friday with all three votes 10-2, though he didn't indicate which way.
  3. Jennifer Aniston, Courtney Cox, Ellen DeGeneres and Dustin Hoffman were among the guests at the first birthday party of Borat Actor Sasha Baron Cohen and Isla Fisher's daughter Olive. Us magazine reports that Sunday's soiree featured a country western theme while the celebs chowed on BBQ. Fisher and Cohen have been engaged since 2004 but have yet to set a wedding date.

  2. The video game adaptation Max Payne premiered atop the North American box office this weekend. According to Reuters, the dark, action-packed film starring Mark Wahlberg and Mila Kunis as characters seeking revenge for murdered loved ones grossed an estimated $18 million. Beverly Hills Chihuahua, the box office champ two weeks running, slipped to Number Two with $11.2 million, raising its overall total to just past $69 million.
  3. Christina Ricci and Liam Neeson will co-star in the psychological thriller After.Life. Ricci plays a woman caught between life and death. Neeson plays a funeral director with the ability to help such people transition, but who may have ulterior motives. Ricci replaces Kate Bosworth in the lead.
  4. Andy Dick pleaded guilty to misdemeanor battery and marijuana possession on Friday. As a result of the plea, the comic must wear an alcohol-monitoring bracelet for one year. Two other charges, public intoxication and possession of Xanax without a prescription, were dropped. Dick was arrested in July after allegedly groping a 17-year-old's shirt and exposing her. Police said that he was "extremely intoxicated" at the time.

  1. Frank Kerr, lead singer of the Canadian punk band “teenage hand” has died of cancer, at the age of 52. Gord Lewis, his bandmate and friend, says Kerr died yesterday in hospital after recently being diagnosed with throat cancer. Fans knew him as Frankie Venom.
  2. Madonna and Guy Ritchie are divorcing after seven-and-a-half years of marriage, their reps confirmed on Wednesday. Their main concern now, is their kids.
  3. And Madonna and Guy Ritchie aren’t the only actors divorcing. David Duchovny and Tea Leoni have announced they're divorcing. The couple said in a statement Wednesday that they have in fact been separated for several months. Duchovny entered rehab this summer for his sex addiction. He and Leoni were married in 1997 and have two young children.
  4. Britney Spears jumped from 96 to the Number One spot on Billboard's Hot 100 chart with her latest single, "Womanizer." The move marks the chart's largest-ever leap. And it's the first time Spears hit the top of the list since her debut single "...Baby One More Time" reached Number One in January 1999. The track also did well in terms of download sales. "Womanizer" opened with 286,000 downloads in its first week -- the biggest opening-week tally by a female artist since Nielsen SoundScan started counting digital downloads in 2003. "Womanizer" will appear on Spears' upcoming album, Circus, due out December 2nd.

  1. Britney Spears could be hitting the road soon. A source says Spears just signed a deal with the major live entertainment company AEG to produce a major tour. No official announcement has been yet, but Spears did hint last month that she hopes to do a worldwide tour next year.
  2. The Jonas Brothers have been tapped to play the halftime concert during the Dallas Cowboys' Thanksgiving Day game on November 27th. The nationally televised game, which airs on Fox, will find the Cowboys taking on the Seattle Seahawks.
  3. Rolling Stone magazine will be shrinking the size of its future issues beginning with its October 30th issue, which is due out this week. The new size, which is more in line with other magazines on the market, will reduce production costs -- although Rolling Stone says that any savings will be offset to the magazine being able to print on thicker, glossier paper with additional pages.
  4. Don Cheadle will be replacing Terrance Howard in Iron Man 2. Although Marvel had no comment, sources said that talks with Howard fell apart over financial issues, as well as "other reasons."

  2. Sarah McLachlan is back on the charts with her new single "U Want Me 2." The track appears on her latest greatest hits album, which features her hit singles, along with two new songs. The Canadian singer is happy about the success she's had over the years, but says she doesn't write songs based on whether or not they will be radio hits.
  3. Confirming recent reports that Green Day has finally begun working on the official follow-up to 2004's American Idiot, the band has posted footage filmed in the recording studio online. Just a few snippets of music can be heard in the 45-second clip.

  2. 3 Doors Down has rescheduled a series of U.S. shows that were postponed last month after singer Brad Arnold was stricken with laryngitis. According to the band's publicist, the rescheduled shows will begin on December 4th in Orange Beach, Alabama.
  3. Singing stars and sweethearts Rihanna and Chris Brown are headed Down Under. The two will kick off a tandem tour of New Zealand and Australia, beginning October 27th in Auckland.
  4. Guns N' Roses will release its new album, Chinese Democracy, on Sunday, November 23rd, sources have confirmed to Billboard. The long-delayed set will be exclusively available at Best Buy and will skip the usual Tuesday release date for new music.
  5. Desperate Housewives star Eva Longoria Parker is set to be a guest judge on the upcoming sixth season of Project Runway, according to the New York Post. The new season continues to film in Los Angeles, a change from its previous New York locale.

  2. The five-month romance between Taylor Swift and Jonas Brother Joe Jonas has reportedly come to an end. Sources say that Jonas pulled the plug on the relationship over the phone recently. While the two never officially confirmed their romance, Swift and Jonas had been spotted in the last few months at one another's concerts, as well as in Swift's hometown of Hendersonville, Tennessee.
  3. Oasis returned to the stage on Tuesday night in Liverpool, England, kicking off a U.K. tour -- despite doctor's wishes that guitarist Noel Gallagher rest for four more weeks as he recovers from injuries sustained last month. Gallagher has been recuperating from hip and rib injuries sustained when a concertgoer shoved him into a monitor at a Toronto festival last month. The band was forced to cancel several subsequent gigs in the U.S. and Europe.

  1. Kid Rock has granted the Rhapsody music service a four-month exclusive deal to make his catalog available for download, ending the singer's holdout on digital music sales. According to Billboard.com, Rock's catalog went on sale Friday.
  2. Emmy- and SAG-winning 30 Rock star Tina Fey has signed a book deal. Two unnamed publishing officials say Little, Brown and Company will release a book of humorous essays by the 38-year-old Fey, whose writing credits include 30 Rock, Saturday Night Live and the feature film Mean Girls.
  3. NBC has given the Ryan Seacrest-produced reality dating show Momma's Boys a home. The show will inherit the 9 p.m. Wednesday timeslot vacated by America's Got Talent for a six-week run beginning October 29th. Momma's Boys features 32 women who'll try to win the heart of three bachelors who keep their moms closely involved. NBC has already begun casting for a second season.

  2. Rob Thomas still can't believe the success of his 1999 duet with Santana on the smash hit song "Smooth." The song won three Grammy Awards, including Record of the Year, Song of the Year and Best Pop Collaboration with Vocal.   3. Nicole Richie can legally drive again. A year after her DUI conviction, the Los Angeles Department of Motor Vehicles has officially changed the status of her license from 'suspended' to 'restricted.' In the aftermath of her arrest, Richie has spent 82 minutes in jail and completed an 18-month anti-DUI course. A restricted license allows Richie to use her car for work-related purposes.
  4. House star Hugh Laurie was recently the victim of a home burglary. A rep for the actor confirmed that an incident took place and sources claim that the burglary occurred while the actor and his wife were asleep in their Hollywood Hills home. A laptop computer is believed to be missing.

  3. Sienna Miller has accepted $27,000 in damages and an apology from Britain's Daily Star tabloid for publishing an unauthorized photo of the actress. Miller sued after the Daily Star ran a picture of her last month in which she claims to have been harassed by the paparazzi.

Singer Chad Kroeger told the BBC, "There's a lot of truly filthy subject matter and adult themes."
  2. Kid Rock is launching his very own brand of beer next year. The "All Summer Long" singer will develop the brew with Drinks America, a beverage maker which promises a product appealing to "beer drinkers who appreciate value with an easy-to-drink, traditional, good tasting American manufactured beer."
  3. Britney Spears is reportedly attending couples counseling with her ex-husband Kevin Federline in the hopes of rekindling their relationship. The National Enquirer reports that the pair wants to rebuild their bond in order to raise their two sons peacefully.
  4. Rachel McAdams has joined the cast of director Guy Ritchie's upcoming Sherlock Holmes movie. McAdams plays Irene Adler, love interest to Robert Downey Jr.'s Holmes. Jude Law plays Holmes' trusty assistant, Dr. Watson.

Morissette performed her new single, "Not As We," on CBS' Early Show this morning.
  2. Franz Ferdinand have wrapped up work on their third album, which is expected out early next year. According to BBC News, fans can expect an upbeat, dance-oriented sound from the set, which follows 2005's You Could Have It So Much Better.
  3. Survivor returns for its 17th, yes, 17th season with a two-hour premiere at 8:00 p.m. Eighteen castaways and Emmy-winning host Jeff Probst are sent to Gabon, a country in west central Africa. This season Exile is no longer an island, it's an open field near a body of water surrounded by trees, and for the first time the entire season will be filmed in HDTV.
  4. Johnny Depp is on board for the fourth Pirates of the Caribbean movie, but that's not all he's got lined up at Disney. Depp will be playing Tonto in a big screen version of The Lone Ranger and will play the Mad Hatter in Alice In Wonderland, which will be shot using 3-D and visual techniques similar to the ones used in Beowulf. Disney is also planning a sequel to the animated feature Cars.

  3. Fox has announced a midseason debut for Lie to Me, a new drama starring acclaimed actor Tim Roth. Roth, best known for such films as Pulp Fiction and Reservoir Dogs, plays a researcher who can detect people's lies from their faces, voices and body language.
  4. NBC revives the cult 1980s series Knight Rider tonight. This new version of the show stars Justin Bruening as Mike Tracer and the voice of Val Kilmer as KITT.

  3. Nicolas Cage has signed on to star in the upcoming period thriller, Season of the Witch. The Hollywood Reporter announced that Cage will play a 14th century knight who must deliver a girl who is accused of being a witch.
  4. Magician David Blaine began his latest endurance challenge on Monday, a stunt that has him hanging suspended upside-down for 60 hours in New York City's Central Park. Then on Wednesday night, after three days and two nights, Blaine will drop to the ground. The "coming back to earth" will be the live-portion of a David Blaine: Dive of Death, airing on ABC this Wednesday at 9 p.m. ET. Blaine will only drink water during his time upside down, and use a catheter to go to the bathroom.

  1. AMC's Mad Men made television history last night when it became the first basic cable show to win an outstanding drama series Emmy award, at the 60th Annual Emmys in Los Angeles. The show about the employees of a 1960s advertising agency also won awards for outstanding writing and directing. It finished the night with a total of 6 awards out of its 16 nominations.
    The broadcast networks did better in the comedy categories. Tina Fey and Alec Baldwin won the lead acting awards for NBC's 30 Rock, which was named outstanding comedy series for the second year in a row. The show about the cast and crew of a sketch comedy program received a total of 17 nominations and ended up with 7 wins.
  2. Former Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker and DJ AM were critically injured Friday (September 19th) in a deadly plane crash that killed four people, but their doctor said he expects the two to make a full recovery. Barker was burned on his torso and DJ AM, whose real name is Adam Goldstein, suffered burns on his hands and part of his head. Both men's wounds were classified as second- and third-degree burns.
  3. Pearl Jam frontman Eddie Vedder has written a song called "All The Way" for the Chicago Cubs baseball team, according to Billboard.com. The track, which Vedder debuted live at a solo gig in the Windy City last month, is already getting airplay at Chicago radio stations and bars.

  2. Britney Spears is busy working on the music video for her new single, "Womanizer." The pop star was at the International Dance Academy Wednesday, auditioning dancers for the video.
  3. Former sitcom star Gary Coleman is being sued by a man who claims the actor punched him and ran into him with his truck in a bowling alley parking lot. 24-year-old Colt Rushton of Spanish Fork, Utah, says the incident left him with knee, back and neck injuries.
  4. Disney is hoping to recreate the success of Pirates of the Caribbean by turning another one of its theme park attractions into a movie. Variety claims that Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson will star in a "space opera" based on Disney's Tomorrowland. Two writers have reportedly been tasked to begin developing the project.

  1. Natasha Bedingfield is kicking off her tour with New Kids On The Block tonight in Toronto, but her mom is one upping her. Molly Bedingfield is on her way to Mt. Everest, where she plans to skydive from 29,500 feet. She's doing it to raise $1 million in sponsorship for her charity, Global Angels.
  2. Nick Jonas received a puppy for his 16th birthday. People magazine confirmed that the singer's family gifted him with a Golden Retriever puppy, which he named Elvis.
  3. Foo Fighters will have to wait a little longer this time around for a follow up. Foo Fighters plan to take a "long break" from recording and touring according to frontman Dave Grohl.
  4. Sheryl Crow is making the most of her new clothing line by donating 10% of all proceeds from all retail sales to breast cancer research during the month of October. -- Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The cause means a lot to Crow, a breast cancer survivor and now advocate for research and awareness.

White Stripes and Raconteurs singer/guitarist Jack White tells RollingStone.com in a new interview that he and pop diva Alicia Keys plan to perform their new James Bond theme song, "Another Way to Die," live several times. The first will probably be at a special premiere of the new Bond film for the royal family in London.
  2. Lily Allen plans to release her sophomore album, Stuck on the Naughty Step, in the U.K. on February 9th. There's no word yet on the North American release.
  3. Transformers actress Megan Fox reveals in October's GQ that she once had a fling with a female stripper. The 22-year-old, who is engaged to actor Brian Austin Green, said that at age 18, she pursued an employee at the Body Shop after her boyfriend broke up with her.
  4. Contrary to rumors, Tom Cruise will not lend his voice to the upcoming Shrek 4 movie. Internet reports had speculated that the actor was a candidate to voice the villain in the DreamWorks film.
  5. Vin Diesel is considering another entry in the XXX movie franchise. Diesel is in talks to re-team with director Rob Cohen for XXX: The Return of Xander Cage.

The guys are currently experiencing their own brush with fame, but couldn't help feeling a little anxious when meeting Spears in person. Speaking of Spears, she’ll release her sixth studio album, Circus, on December 2nd - her 27th birthday.
  2. Linkin Park frontman Chester Bennington blasted the 2008 MTV Video Music Awards in an interview with Entertainment Weekly last week. Bennington, who attended the September 7th awards show, was disappointed in the lack of rock acts represented at the event.
  3. American Idol winner David Cook is gearing up to issue his debut album on November 18th and has already launched a special social networking site to help celebrate its release. The site, DavidCookOfficial.com, allows fans to interact with Cook and one another.
  4. When Lance Bass makes his debut on ABC's Dancing With The Stars Monday he'll be dancing with professional partner Lacey Schwimmer. The openly gay former member of 'N Sync says he wouldn't mind competing with a male partner, but not on this show.

  1. Alanis Morissette shot the video for her new single "Not As We" last week. And like other songs on her new album, Flavors of Entanglement, this one was inspired by her break up with actor Ryan Reynolds. "Not As We" isn't directly about their split, but about the moving on process and how other people can be helpful during difficult times. Reynolds is now engaged to actress Scarlett Johansson.
  2. The newly-engaged Natasha Bedingfield is thrilled with her fiance, businessman Mark Robinson, and says her parents are partly to thank for that. The British singer told OK! magazine that her parents, Molly and John Bedingfield, have set a great relationship example.
  3. Ryan Seacrest and Paris Hilton are teaming up to develop a scripted television series. People magazine reports that Seacrest has been in talks with Jason Moore from Paris Hilton Entertainment about the project, but no further details have been released. Hilton's newest reality show, Paris Hilton's My New BFF airs this fall on MTV.

  2. Despite having been photographed with him all summer, Kirsten Dunst denies being romantically involved with Drew Barrymore's ex, Justin Long. "I don't know him from Adam," Dunst says in the October issue of Harper's Bazaar. "I met him once and he and his friend were kind enough to walk me home. I've never seen him since." Regardless of her claim, over Labor Day weekend, the pair was spotted checking into Los Angeles's Chateau Marmont hotel together.
  3. Newlywed daytime talk show host Ellen DeGeneres has signed to be the next CoverGirl spokeswoman, according to Entertainment Tonight. DeGeneres, who recently tied the knot with partner Portia de Rossi, is said to be pocketing one million dollars for the campaign, which she'll shoot this week.

  1. Grammy winning singer and songwriter Beyonce and her label, Columbia, have officially announced that her third solo CD, still untitled, will be released on November 18th. She'll preview the project with two simultaneous singles, "If I Were A Boy" and "Single Ladies," which will be available October 7th.
  2. Oasis canceled its Tuesday night show in London, Ontario as guitarist Noel Gallagher apparently continues to feel the effects of a shocking onstage attack that occurred two nights ago in Toronto. The London gig has already been rescheduled for December 15th.
  3. Pam Anderson says despite rumors, she's not dating Michael Jackson. But apparently the two have been talking. Anderson tells Ellen Degenres in an interview airing today, "He just wants me to be in a video." When Degeneres asked if Anderson has "seriously been hanging out" with Jackson.

  1. Oasis guitarist Noel Gallagher was attacked onstage by a male assailant during the band's set at the Virgin Festival in Toronto on Sunday night. Video footage posted on YouTube showed that the band was about a minute into a song when the man emerged from stage right and shoved Gallagher into his monitor. The man then attempted to move toward singer Liam Gallagher but was tackled by security.
  2. Natasha Bedingfield got engaged to her boyfriend of two years, businessman Matt Robinson, over the weekend. She says they haven't even thought about a wedding date yet.
  3. My Chemical Romance bassist Mikey Way has been tapped by DC Comics to write an eight-page comic book story for one of their Halloween titles. There's no word on what the storyline will be or what DC characters will be involved, although there are rumors that it could involve Batman.
  4. Award winning actress Julie Andrews has joined Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson and Ashley Judd in the family comedy Tooth Fairy, according to the Hollywood Reporter. Johnson plays a minor league hockey player known as the Tooth Fairy for his ability to knock out opposing players' teeth. When he discourages a youngster, he's ordered to spend one week as a real tooth fairy, complete with wings, magic wand and tutu. Andrews plays a high-ranking, supervisor with the Tooth Fairy Department assigned to oversee his punishment. Judd plays the hockey pro's girlfriend.

  1. After 16 nominations and no wins in past years, Britney Spears ruled last night's 2008 MTV Video Music Awards by winning all three awards for which she was nominated. She picked up Best female video, best pop video and best video of the year for her hit Piece of me.
  2. A week after blowing off a Paris concert, Amy Winehouse kept a scheduled performance date at the Isle of Wright's Bestival on Saturday, but showed up 45 minutes late. The troubled singer "gave one of her most thorough displays of the summer," despite the organizer's fear of her behavior. That fear was heightened this week after it was reported that Winehouse's personal rider for the event included 48 bottles of Jack Daniel's whiskey. "Whiskey is better than heroin," a Bestival source said. "but not 48 bottles of the stuff."
  3. Gary Coleman reportedly struck a man with his car after he and the victim argued at a bowling alley on Saturday. A bodyguard for the former Diff'rent Strokes actor told a Los Angeles television station that Colt Rushton was hit by Coleman's truck after darting behind it, but Rushton contends that Coleman deliberately backed into him.
