1. The Smashing Pumpkins will issue a new single called "G.L.O.W." in early September, according to the Los Angeles Times. The song will be the first released by the band since it parted ways with Reprise Records earlier this year.
2. Iconic comedy duo Cheech & Chong held a press conference Wednesday in West Hollywood to officially announce that they will hit the road on a 22-date U.S. tour, their first in more than 25 years. The pioneers of counter-culture humor will kick off the Cheech & Chong: Light Up America... tour on September 12th
3. Warner Bros. is creating a Marvin the Martian feature. The project is said to combine both CGI and live action. The cartoon alien first appeared in a Looney Tunes cartoon back in 1948.
4. Freddie Prinze, Jr. has a new job! The Scooby Doo alumni has beeh hired by the WWE. Yes, as in "wrestling."
   Sarah Michelle Gellar's husband is a new member of the WWE "creative team." He was at the RAW/Saturday Night's Main Event taping on Monday night and has attended several WWE events over the past few months, including WrestleMania.

WEDNESDAY NIGHT CONCERTS IN THE PARK

Dropped by Wednesday Night Concerts in the Park for the night's show which eventually got rained on pretty heavy but it was fun times anyways. Quite a crowd lined up too!!! First up we heard from 3 Amigos or so Steve the MC called em including Richard Musclow. And then we heard some Pink Floyd tunes from a cover band. Overall pretty good. SHOW NOTES FOR WEDNESDAY, JULY 30TH 2008

PRIZES PRIZES PRIZES... That's what today was all about. We gave away passes to the Rockhound Gemboree and Gemboree breakfast as well as our usual contests.

We also talked about the Nintendo Wii and how it offers some exercise and activity to kids playing games. We had Norene call in and tell us about how a seniors centre has integrated it into the senior's day to give them a chance to get physical activity. Heck! They even wear bowling shirts in teams while they play Wii Bowling!!!!

1. David Cook is making some good headway with his debut album. The American Idol champ is busy on the road with this year's finalists, but he's also setting his sights on writing and recording new music. He recently visited Los Angeles to lay down some tracks for the set, which is expected out November 19th and will feature writing.
2. Grammy winning singer and songwriter Alicia Keys has teamed up with White Stripes and Raconteurs singer-guitarist Jack White to record the theme song to the new James Bond movie, Quantum of Solace. The song, called "Another Way To Die," was written by White, who is also producing the track and playing nearly all the instruments, including drums.
3. Jennifer Lopez will star in the upcoming romantic comedy The Governess, marking her first acting role since giving birth to twins earlier this year.
4. Patrick Swayze was on the set in Chicago on Monday to begin work on the new A&E series The Beast. Swayze plays an unorthodox FBI agent who becomes the target of an Internal Affairs investigation. It's his first acting job since confirming that he was undergoing treatment for pancreatic cancer earlier this year.
