  1. Faith Hill is gearing up to sing "America the Beautiful" at the Super Bowl this Sunday (February 1st) when the Arizona Cardinals take on the Pittsburgh Steelers in Tampa, Florida. Hill is expected to perform prior to the official kickoff at 6:20 p.m. ET. Hill is no stranger to the Super Bowl. She sang the national anthem back in 2000 in Atlanta. Bruce Springsteen will be headlining the halftime show.
  2. Paris Hilton says she was thrilled to meet Lady Gaga earlier this week at a party in London. She tells MTV UK, "I don't usually get excited to meet anyone but Lady Gaga is her own thing, she knows what she's doing and her music is like no other.”
  3. American Idol has issued an apology to contestant Mark Mudd for suggesting that he threatened judges during an audition in Kentucky that aired last week. The judges seemed jumpy didn’t they.
  4. A stuntman working on the upcoming Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows film was hospitalized on Wednesday after suffering serious back injuries from an accident on set. As the 25-year-old was practicing an aerial sequence, a planned blast somehow went wrong and he crashed to the ground. Sources say he was unable to feel his legs.

  1. Coldplay and the Killers will co-headline a benefit concert in the U.K. next month for the War Child organization. The show will take place on February 18th, immediately after the Brit Awards, at the O2 Shepherds Bush Empire in London. Both groups will play a 45-minute set. All proceeds from the gig will go to War Child, which provides humanitarian assistance to war-affected children in some of the most devastated regions of the world.
  2. Ashlee Simpson-Wentz has taken to her blog to defend sister Jessica Simpson's recent weight gain. The move came after a slew of media outlets published photos of Jessica looking a bit more curvy than usual while performing at a radio-sponsored chili cookoff in Pembroke Pines, Florida.
  3. John Mayer will join Queen Latifah for an upcoming prime time Sesame Street special. According to Access Hollywood, he'll be educating children -- with the help of Elmo -- during a new children's program called "Coming Home: Military Families Cope With Change." The special will tell stories of military personnel returning home to their families "with injuries, visible and invisible." The 30-minute show airs April 1st on PBS.

  1. Michelle Branch is hard at work on a new solo album and recently posted a clip of the new song, "My Way," on her website. There's no word on when the set, tentatively titled Everything Comes and Goes, will be released, but Branch say she's almost done.
  2. Katharine McPhee is working on her first album since her 2006 self-titled debut. According to Billboard.com, she plans to release the set before the end of the year for her new record label, Verve. The album is expected to show different sides of McPhee's talents and musical tastes.
  3. Rumors of a romance between 21-year-old Evan Rachel Wood and her 56-year-old The Wrestler co-star Mickey Rourke are heating up after the pair was spotted kissing during a SAG after party this past weekend.
  4. Big name stars including Lisa Kudrow, Sarah Jessica Parker and Susan Sarandon will be featured in NBC's upcoming series, Who Do You Think You Are? The Kudrow-produced program, which will lead celebrities on a journey of self-discovery as they unearth their family trees, will premiere on April 20th.
  5. Although it's been on the air since 2002, The Bachelor is actually seeing an increase in ratings during its current season. Entertainment Weekly reported yesterday that Monday night's show averaged 10.6 million viewers, which was an increase of 600,000 from the previous week.

  1. Kelly Clarkson is getting some songwriting help from Katy Perry. According to PerezHilton.com, Clarkson's rumored second single, called "I Do Not Hook Up," was written by Perry around three years ago, along with writer and American Idol judge Kara DioGuardi and producer Greg Wells.
  2. International pop star Rihanna could be under consideration to make an appearance in the next installment of the Charlie's Angels film franchise as a fourth angel. Producers Drew Barrymore and Nancy Juvonen are said to be mulling a third film after 2000's Charlie's Angels and 2003's Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle, which featured Barrymore, Cameron Diaz, and Lucy Liu in the title roles.
  3. John Mayer has scheduled his annual cruise with fans for March 27th through the 31st. The four-day, four-night vacation will leave from Port San Pedro in Los Angeles. The cruise will feature several other guest artists, including O.A.R. and Guster.
  4. Taylor Swift is apparently a long-time Britney Spears fan. In a new MySpace blog, the singer writes about how her mother rearranged her bathroom while she was in Los Angeles recently to film an episode of CSI. When she came back home, Swift quickly noticed that her mother did some rearranging and was "startled" when she realized her Spears poster was missing from its original spot.

A post on Coldplay's Twitter page indicated that the band is back in the studio for "a couple of weeks" with producer Brian Eno, who worked with the British group on its latest album, Viva La Vida Or Death And All His Friends. There was no further information posted regarding what the band was working on.
  2. Hilary Duff will guest star on an upcoming episode of the Jennifer Love Hewitt series, Ghost Whisperer. According to UsMagazine.com, Duff will appear in the episode "Thrilled to Death," where she will play a beautiful woman of mystery who may be involved in the death of a man who was in a freak accident.
  3. Kevin Jonas says he and his brothers get along great with Taylor Swift. According to MTV.com, he talked about the Jonas Brothers' relationship with Swift in a recent radio interview. Although Joe Jonas dumped Swift last fall, Kevin says, "We are all friends with Taylor. We always have been friends with Taylor. She's a great girl, and she's an incredible musician."
  4. Miley Cyrus isn't shy about saving money these days. She and her reported beau, model Justin Gatson, were dining at the sushi spot Koi last week in Hollywood when they ran into the paparazzi, who noticed that the couple didn't valet their car.
  5. Prince Harry and his girlfriend Chelsy Davy have ended their five-year relationship. People magazine reported that the couple parted amicably after a recent vacation together.
  6. 30 Rock dominated the television comedy categories at Sunday night's Screen Actors Guild Awards, while Kate Winslet, Heath Ledger and Slumdog Millionaire further built their Oscar momentum on the movie side. Although she was named best supporting actress, Winslet lost out to Meryl Streep in the lead actress category, surprising no one more than a Streep herself, who pointed out she was wearing pants because she didn't bother to buy a gown for the occasion.

  1. The Oscar nominations were announced yesterday. Leading the pack with 13 nominations is the movie starring Brad Pitt, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button. Slumdog Millionaire made out with 10 nominations followed by 8 nominations for both the Dark Knight starring the late Heath Ledger and Milk. Hugh Jackman will host the big night on February 22nd.
  2. Pink and her ex-husband, motocross racer Carey Hart, have been spending a lot of time together these days, and some reports say they could be back together. Insiders say Carey has moved back in to Pink's Malibu, California home. The reported move follows several photos showing the pair getting cozy and spending quality time together.
  3. Amy Winehouse is doing much better these days, but her father Mitch says she came "close to death" twice during her worst moments. According to People.com, the details will be revealed in the upcoming British TV documentary Saving Amy.
  4. Miley Cyrus is speaking out about her relationship with the Jonas Brothers, including her ex-boyfriend, Nick Jonas. Despite rumors of them not getting along, Cyrus says she has no ill feelings toward Nick. Nice to know that kids can get along after their puppy love ends.
  5. Is Katy Perry a liar. No, but her recent quote was taken out of context. She recently said she`d remain celebate in 2009 but now says the comments were made in a joking manner. Perry adds, "Please ... celibacy for the whole year? I'd rather die." Perry is taking a step back, though, to make sure her next guy is a good one, explaining, "I guess I am just going to be looking for the right one."

  1. Katy Perry claims she won't be doing much kissing in 2009. After her split from Gym Class Heroes frontman Travis McCoy, the "I Kissed a Girl" singer says she's taking a step back. According to UsMagazine.com, Perry said, "I've actually taken a vow of celibacy this year. No kissing anyone. Just my cat: Kitty Purry."
  2. Green Day fan website GreenDayAuthority.com has speculated that the band could be finished recording its still-untitled follow-up to 2004's American Idiot. The site reported that the trio has been recording since November at Ocean Way Recording in Hollywood, California, which was confirmed by the sight of reserved parking spaces for all three members.
  3. The nominees for the 81st annual Academy Awards are being announced this morning. It`s taking place at the Academy's Samuel Goldwyn Theater in Los Angeles.
  4. Mike Myers and Paris Hilton are among the leaders for this year's Razzie Awards. Hilton was recognized with giving two of the worst acting performances in 2008 for her roles in The Hottie and the Nottie and Repo: The Genetic Opera, while Myer's Love Guru racked up seven nominations, including worst picture and worst actor.

  1. Coldplay earned four nominations, tied for the most with singer Duffy, for the 2009 Brit Awards, according to Gigwise.com. The nominations were announced yesterday.
  2. The artist formerly known as Cat Stevens is going back to his straightforward songwriting style for his still-untitled new album, due in late spring. The artist's next disc will be the follow-up to 2006's An Other Cup.
  3. Shia LaBeouf's driver's license has been suspended as a result of his 2008 car crash. The suspension, which took effect on January 17th, is the result of the actor's "refusal of chemical tests" in the immediate aftermath of the accident.
  4. Mark Ruffalo is getting ready to come back to work a month after his brother died of a gunshot wound to the head. Although the actor dropped out of a film in the immediate aftermath of Scott Ruffalo's tragic death, E! Online reports that next week he will begin work on the film Sympathy for Delicious, which he will direct and star in.

Beyonce', John Mellencamp, Usher, Stevie Wonder, Sheryl Crow, Josh Groban, Shakira, Mary J. Blige, and James Taylor were just some of the acts who performed for President-elect Barack Obama at the Lincoln Memorial in Washington yesterday. Bruce Springsteen opened the show like an old-style revival with his song ``The Rising.'' U-2 performed two songs.
  2. The Jonas Brothers are fired up to perform at an inaugural event today -- and if the Obama girls have time, take them on for a rematch in ping-pong. The Jonas Brothers will perform at the ``Kids' Inaugural Concert'' in Washington tonight. The Jonas Brothers met the Obama sisters backstage at ``Ellen'' recently. Nick Jonas says the girls beat him in ping-pong.
  3. Things are moving quickly on ``The Bachelor''. As tonight's episode begins, there are 12 women left. When the program is finished two hours later, three of those women will have their hearts broken.

  1. Britney Spears is apparently a big fan of Katy Perry's music. According to Spears' official website, she's been listening to Perry's debut album, One of the Boys, ever since she bought it when she was home in Kentwood, Louisiana over the holidays. Spears' friend offered to burn her the CD but she was so excited she wanted to buy it herself.

  2. Aerosmith has been forced to cancel its February 1st headlining gig in Venezuela due to lead guitarist Joe Perry having to undergo emergency surgery on his knee, according to a statement issued by the band's publicist. Perry has to have the operation to correct unforeseen complications, possibly an infection, that resulted from a previous surgery on the same knee last year. Perry had a complete knee replacement done in March of 2008 after putting the procedure off for two years while Aerosmith fulfilled tour commitments.

  3. Amanda Bynes dumped her boyfriend Doug Reinhart, Us Weekly magazine revealed yesterday. The actress began dating the baseball player -- made famous by his short stint on The Hills as Lauren Conrad's boyfriend -- in late 2008.

  4. Lance Armstrong reportedly plans to marry the woman carrying his child. In Touch Weekly claims that the cyclist asked girlfriend Anna Hansen to marry him during a recent trip to Hawaii.

  5. Rumors have again surfaced that Johnny Depp is planning to tie the knot with longtime girlfriend Vanessa Paradis. MTV UK reports that the couple is planning a low-key affair this spring at their chateau in France.

  1. The members of Lifehouse have been in the studio over the last two months working on a new album expected to be released this summer. The upcoming set will mark the band's fifth studio effort and its first since 2007's Who We Are.
  2. The New Kids on the Block are organizing a four-day cruise and are inviting fans along for the trip. They'll be leaving from Ft. Lauderdale and heading to the Bahamas from May 15th through May 18th.
  3. Katy Perry opened up about her recent split from Gym Class Heroes' frontman Travis McCoy at an acoustic show Monday night at L.A.'s Hotel Cafe. She told the crowd that "it hurts right now," adding, "When you break up with someone, you move on. You don't really want to move on ... but you have to because they don't give you any choice."
  4. David Cook and his girlfriend, former American Idol contestant Kimberly Caldwell, have parted ways. A rep told In Touch magazine, "Kimberly and David ended their relationship just before the holidays. The couple remain good friends and, being very private people, appreciate their privacy at this time."
  5. Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck have named their newborn girl Seraphina Rose Elizabeth Affleck. The actress's rep revealed the child's name a week after her January 6th birth. The couple also has another daughter, three-year-old Violet.

It's part of the third annual "My Grammy Moment" contest, which is currently asking music fans to upload a video of themselves singing a part of Perry's hit, "I Kissed a Girl." Fans can submit videos through February 6th at CBS.com/grammys.

  2. Not only does Amy Winehouse look healthier these days, but photos suggest she's also a lot happier and having a good time with friends. The troubled British singer has also been spending time in the Caribbean getting cozy with former rugby player-turrned actor Joshua Bowman.

  3. The Jonas Brothers have been tapped to present at the 66th annual Golden Globe Awards, set to take place this Sunday in Los Angeles.

  4. Jennifer Garner gave birth to a baby girl yesterday in Los Angeles. This is the second child for Garner and Ben Affleck. The couple also has a three-year-old daughter named Violet.

  5. Queen Latifah, who will host tonight's People's Choice Awards ceremony, will also continue as a Jenny Craig spokeswoman. The weight loss company issued a statement Tuesday to dispel any notions that the singer and actress won't be along for the ride in 2009.
