  1. Jennifer Hudson finally unveils her long-awaited debut album today. The album, titled Jennifer Hudson, features contributions from Ne-Yo, the Underdogs, Robin Thicke, Missy Elliott, T-Pain, Diane Warren, and Timbaland.
  2. Katy Perry will be transformed into a limited edition 12-inch tall doll this fall. She teamed with fashion designer Jason Wu to create the doll, which will feature a belted gold mini-dress.
  3. Natasha Bedingfield is writing some new music while on tour this fall. She says she's writing with her pal Brian Kennedy while touring the country on the John Lennon Educational Tour Bus -- a vehicle equipped with a recording studio.
  4. KT Tunstall and her new husband, drummer Luke Bullen, took off on an adventurous trip last week. The pair tied the knot earlier this month on a remote Scottish island, and now they're setting sail for the Arctic Circle as part of a star-studded research mission to examine the effects of global warming.

  1. Nickelback's forthcoming album might just be slapped with one of those parental warning stickers. Tentatively titled Dark Horse, the sixth studio effort from the Canadian rockers is teeming with adult themes and lyrics that could make it a tough sell to radio and fans' parents. Singer Chad Kroeger told the BBC, "There's a lot of truly filthy subject matter and adult themes."
  2. Kid Rock is launching his very own brand of beer next year. The "All Summer Long" singer will develop the brew with Drinks America, a beverage maker which promises a product appealing to "beer drinkers who appreciate value with an easy-to-drink, traditional, good tasting American manufactured beer."
  3. Britney Spears is reportedly attending couples counseling with her ex-husband Kevin Federline in the hopes of rekindling their relationship. The National Enquirer reports that the pair wants to rebuild their bond in order to raise their two sons peacefully.
  4. Rachel McAdams has joined the cast of director Guy Ritchie's upcoming Sherlock Holmes movie. McAdams plays Irene Adler, love interest to Robert Downey Jr.'s Holmes. Jude Law plays Holmes' trusty assistant, Dr. Watson.

  1. Alanis Morissette has her own way of relieving stress sometimes: listening to her music. She doesn't just perform for fans, but Morissette will sometimes dig up one of her recorded songs and listen to it -- especially if there's something going on in her personal life. Morissette performed her new single, "Not As We," on CBS' Early Show this morning.
  2. Franz Ferdinand have wrapped up work on their third album, which is expected out early next year. According to BBC News, fans can expect an upbeat, dance-oriented sound from the set, which follows 2005's You Could Have It So Much Better.
  3. Survivor returns for its 17th, yes, 17th season with a two-hour premiere at 8:00 p.m. Eighteen castaways and Emmy-winning host Jeff Probst are sent to Gabon, a country in west central Africa. This season Exile is no longer an island, it's an open field near a body of water surrounded by trees, and for the first time the entire season will be filmed in HDTV.
  4. Johnny Depp is on board for the fourth Pirates of the Caribbean movie, but that's not all he's got lined up at Disney. Depp will be playing Tonto in a big screen version of The Lone Ranger and will play the Mad Hatter in Alice In Wonderland, which will be shot using 3-D and visual techniques similar to the ones used in Beowulf. Disney is also planning a sequel to the animated feature Cars.

  1. Jason Mraz took to his blog to write about a birthmark, located on his left leg about his heel, and he goes into quite some detail about it. The singer-songwriter describes the mark as a "gnarly, purple, blue and black mark," noting, "The purple marking, being the exact shade of my birth color, is there to remind me of the impermanence of life."
  2. David Cook's first single, "Light On," debuts exclusively on AOL today and goes up on iTunes on September 30th. The track finds Cook teaming up with former Soundgarden and Audioslave singer Chris Cornell, who wrote the track with Hinder producer Brian Howes.
  3. Fox has announced a midseason debut for Lie to Me, a new drama starring acclaimed actor Tim Roth. Roth, best known for such films as Pulp Fiction and Reservoir Dogs, plays a researcher who can detect people's lies from their faces, voices and body language.
  4. NBC revives the cult 1980s series Knight Rider tonight. This new version of the show stars Justin Bruening as Mike Tracer and the voice of Val Kilmer as KITT.

  1. Taylor Swift will be in a Nashville recording studio today to record one last-minute song for her upcoming album. The singer said she begged her label to add two additional songs to the CD, which, until recently, was finished. Swift's new album, called Fearless, is scheduled for release on November 11th.
  2. Mariah Carey reportedly impressed the director of her latest film, Tennessee, so much that he's cast her in his next flick. The New York Daily News reports that Lee Daniels wants Carey to play a Harlem social worker in his upcoming movie, Push.
  3. Nicolas Cage has signed on to star in the upcoming period thriller, Season of the Witch. The Hollywood Reporter announced that Cage will play a 14th century knight who must deliver a girl who is accused of being a witch.
  4. Magician David Blaine began his latest endurance challenge on Monday, a stunt that has him hanging suspended upside-down for 60 hours in New York City's Central Park. Then on Wednesday night, after three days and two nights, Blaine will drop to the ground. The "coming back to earth" will be the live-portion of a David Blaine: Dive of Death, airing on ABC this Wednesday at 9 p.m. ET. Blaine will only drink water during his time upside down, and use a catheter to go to the bathroom.

  1. AMC's Mad Men made television history last night when it became the first basic cable show to win an outstanding drama series Emmy award, at the 60th Annual Emmys in Los Angeles. The show about the employees of a 1960s advertising agency also won awards for outstanding writing and directing. It finished the night with a total of 6 awards out of its 16 nominations.
    The broadcast networks did better in the comedy categories. Tina Fey and Alec Baldwin won the lead acting awards for NBC's 30 Rock, which was named outstanding comedy series for the second year in a row. The show about the cast and crew of a sketch comedy program received a total of 17 nominations and ended up with 7 wins.
  2. Former Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker and DJ AM were critically injured Friday (September 19th) in a deadly plane crash that killed four people, but their doctor said he expects the two to make a full recovery. Barker was burned on his torso and DJ AM, whose real name is Adam Goldstein, suffered burns on his hands and part of his head. Both men's wounds were classified as second- and third-degree burns.
  3. Pearl Jam frontman Eddie Vedder has written a song called "All The Way" for the Chicago Cubs baseball team, according to Billboard.com. The track, which Vedder debuted live at a solo gig in the Windy City last month, is already getting airplay at Chicago radio stations and bars.

  1. Pink's super hot single "So What" tops the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart this week, thanks to more than a quarter million digital downloads. This is the first Number One on this chart for the singer as a soloist.
  2. Britney Spears is busy working on the music video for her new single, "Womanizer." The pop star was at the International Dance Academy Wednesday, auditioning dancers for the video.
  3. Former sitcom star Gary Coleman is being sued by a man who claims the actor punched him and ran into him with his truck in a bowling alley parking lot. 24-year-old Colt Rushton of Spanish Fork, Utah, says the incident left him with knee, back and neck injuries.
  4. Disney is hoping to recreate the success of Pirates of the Caribbean by turning another one of its theme park attractions into a movie. Variety claims that Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson will star in a "space opera" based on Disney's Tomorrowland. Two writers have reportedly been tasked to begin developing the project.

  1. Natasha Bedingfield is kicking off her tour with New Kids On The Block tonight in Toronto, but her mom is one upping her. Molly Bedingfield is on her way to Mt. Everest, where she plans to skydive from 29,500 feet. She's doing it to raise $1 million in sponsorship for her charity, Global Angels.
  2. Nick Jonas received a puppy for his 16th birthday. People magazine confirmed that the singer's family gifted him with a Golden Retriever puppy, which he named Elvis.
  3. Foo Fighters will have to wait a little longer this time around for a follow up. Foo Fighters plan to take a "long break" from recording and touring according to frontman Dave Grohl.
  4. Sheryl Crow is making the most of her new clothing line by donating 10% of all proceeds from all retail sales to breast cancer research during the month of October. -- Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The cause means a lot to Crow, a breast cancer survivor and now advocate for research and awareness.

White Stripes and Raconteurs singer/guitarist Jack White tells RollingStone.com in a new interview that he and pop diva Alicia Keys plan to perform their new James Bond theme song, "Another Way to Die," live several times. The first will probably be at a special premiere of the new Bond film for the royal family in London.
  2. Lily Allen plans to release her sophomore album, Stuck on the Naughty Step, in the U.K. on February 9th. There's no word yet on the North American release.
  3. Transformers actress Megan Fox reveals in October's GQ that she once had a fling with a female stripper. The 22-year-old, who is engaged to actor Brian Austin Green, said that at age 18, she pursued an employee at the Body Shop after her boyfriend broke up with her.
  4. Contrary to rumors, Tom Cruise will not lend his voice to the upcoming Shrek 4 movie. Internet reports had speculated that the actor was a candidate to voice the villain in the DreamWorks film.
  5. Vin Diesel is considering another entry in the XXX movie franchise. Diesel is in talks to re-team with director Rob Cohen for XXX: The Return of Xander Cage.

  1. The Jonas Brothers were nearly starstruck when they met Britney Spears for the first time at the recent MTV Video Music Awards in Los Angeles. The guys are currently experiencing their own brush with fame, but couldn't help feeling a little anxious when meeting Spears in person. Speaking of Spears, she’ll release her sixth studio album, Circus, on December 2nd - her 27th birthday.
  2. Linkin Park frontman Chester Bennington blasted the 2008 MTV Video Music Awards in an interview with Entertainment Weekly last week. Bennington, who attended the September 7th awards show, was disappointed in the lack of rock acts represented at the event.
  3. American Idol winner David Cook is gearing up to issue his debut album on November 18th and has already launched a special social networking site to help celebrate its release. The site, DavidCookOfficial.com, allows fans to interact with Cook and one another.
  4. When Lance Bass makes his debut on ABC's Dancing With The Stars Monday he'll be dancing with professional partner Lacey Schwimmer. The openly gay former member of 'N Sync says he wouldn't mind competing with a male partner, but not on this show.

  1. Alanis Morissette shot the video for her new single "Not As We" last week. And like other songs on her new album, Flavors of Entanglement, this one was inspired by her break up with actor Ryan Reynolds. "Not As We" isn't directly about their split, but about the moving on process and how other people can be helpful during difficult times. Reynolds is now engaged to actress Scarlett Johansson.
  2. The newly-engaged Natasha Bedingfield is thrilled with her fiance, businessman Mark Robinson, and says her parents are partly to thank for that. The British singer told OK! magazine that her parents, Molly and John Bedingfield, have set a great relationship example.
  3. Ryan Seacrest and Paris Hilton are teaming up to develop a scripted television series. People magazine reports that Seacrest has been in talks with Jason Moore from Paris Hilton Entertainment about the project, but no further details have been released. Hilton's newest reality show, Paris Hilton's My New BFF airs this fall on MTV.

  1. Piano man Theo Tams hits all the right notes -- and now he's got the Canadian Idol crown to prove it. The 22-year-old Lethbridge songster got the better of four million votes to beat out Mitch MacDonald last night becoming the sixth Canadian Idol.
  2. Despite having been photographed with him all summer, Kirsten Dunst denies being romantically involved with Drew Barrymore's ex, Justin Long. "I don't know him from Adam," Dunst says in the October issue of Harper's Bazaar. "I met him once and he and his friend were kind enough to walk me home. I've never seen him since." Regardless of her claim, over Labor Day weekend, the pair was spotted checking into Los Angeles's Chateau Marmont hotel together.
  3. Newlywed daytime talk show host Ellen DeGeneres has signed to be the next CoverGirl spokeswoman, according to Entertainment Tonight. DeGeneres, who recently tied the knot with partner Portia de Rossi, is said to be pocketing one million dollars for the campaign, which she'll shoot this week.

  1. Grammy winning singer and songwriter Beyonce and her label, Columbia, have officially announced that her third solo CD, still untitled, will be released on November 18th. She'll preview the project with two simultaneous singles, "If I Were A Boy" and "Single Ladies," which will be available October 7th.
  2. Oasis canceled its Tuesday night show in London, Ontario as guitarist Noel Gallagher apparently continues to feel the effects of a shocking onstage attack that occurred two nights ago in Toronto. The London gig has already been rescheduled for December 15th.
  3. Pam Anderson says despite rumors, she's not dating Michael Jackson. But apparently the two have been talking. Anderson tells Ellen Degenres in an interview airing today, "He just wants me to be in a video." When Degeneres asked if Anderson has "seriously been hanging out" with Jackson.

  1. Oasis guitarist Noel Gallagher was attacked onstage by a male assailant during the band's set at the Virgin Festival in Toronto on Sunday night. Video footage posted on YouTube showed that the band was about a minute into a song when the man emerged from stage right and shoved Gallagher into his monitor. The man then attempted to move toward singer Liam Gallagher but was tackled by security.
  2. Natasha Bedingfield got engaged to her boyfriend of two years, businessman Matt Robinson, over the weekend. She says they haven't even thought about a wedding date yet.
  3. My Chemical Romance bassist Mikey Way has been tapped by DC Comics to write an eight-page comic book story for one of their Halloween titles. There's no word on what the storyline will be or what DC characters will be involved, although there are rumors that it could involve Batman.
  4. Award winning actress Julie Andrews has joined Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson and Ashley Judd in the family comedy Tooth Fairy, according to the Hollywood Reporter. Johnson plays a minor league hockey player known as the Tooth Fairy for his ability to knock out opposing players' teeth. When he discourages a youngster, he's ordered to spend one week as a real tooth fairy, complete with wings, magic wand and tutu. Andrews plays a high-ranking, supervisor with the Tooth Fairy Department assigned to oversee his punishment. Judd plays the hockey pro's girlfriend.

  1. After 16 nominations and no wins in past years, Britney Spears ruled last night's 2008 MTV Video Music Awards by winning all three awards for which she was nominated. She picked up Best female video, best pop video and best video of the year for her hit Piece of me.
  2. A week after blowing off a Paris concert, Amy Winehouse kept a scheduled performance date at the Isle of Wright's Bestival on Saturday, but showed up 45 minutes late. The troubled singer "gave one of her most thorough displays of the summer," despite the organizer's fear of her behavior. That fear was heightened this week after it was reported that Winehouse's personal rider for the event included 48 bottles of Jack Daniel's whiskey. "Whiskey is better than heroin," a Bestival source said. "but not 48 bottles of the stuff."
  3. Gary Coleman reportedly struck a man with his car after he and the victim argued at a bowling alley on Saturday. A bodyguard for the former Diff'rent Strokes actor told a Los Angeles television station that Colt Rushton was hit by Coleman's truck after darting behind it, but Rushton contends that Coleman deliberately backed into him.
