  1. U2 played a four-song set on the roof of the London offices of the BBC on Friday to finish off a day of promotion for the band's new album, No Line On The Horizon. The group performed two songs from the new disc -- current single "Get On Your Boots" and "Magnificent" -- along with "Vertigo," and "Beautiful Day."
  2. No Doubt will make an appearance on the May 11th episode of the hit CW series Gossip Girl. The band announced on its website that it will perform a cover of Adam Ant's "Stand And Deliver" on the program, which airs at 8:00 p.m. The cameo will come just over a week after No Doubt begins its first tour in five years on May 3rd at the Bamboozle festival.
  3. Chris Brown and Rihanna are keeping their Miami reunion low-key, a source tells People. The source said, "They feel like staying in and working through their issues. So far they have not wanted to go out." The magazine reported Friday that Rihanna and Brown are staying in one of Diddy's homes in the city.

  2. Although they both confirmed having split amicably late last year, Simon Cowell and Teri Seymour may be giving their breakup a second thought. Rumors are flying that the pair is back together after the New York Daily News reported that they attended Elton John's Oscar party together over the weekend.
  3. Beyonce is reaching out to single women everywhere. She's holding a dance contest that invites her fans to create their own versions of her "Single Ladies" music video.   1. Slumdog Millionaire the big winner last night, scooping up eight awards in all, the rags-to-riches love story was the clear front-runner of the star-studded event, held at the Kodak Theater in Los Angeles.
    Leading nominee The Curious Case of Benjamin Button entered the evening with 13 nominations. It picked up a three technical awards, including best makeup, best art direction and best visual effects.
  2. The most heartbreaking moment of the night came when the late Heath Ledger picked up best supporting actor for his role as The Joker in The Dark Knight. Audience members got emotional when his family walked up to the stage to accept the honor on behalf of Ledger's little girl, Matilda.
  3. Kate Winslet took home her first-ever Oscar for her role as a former Nazi camp guard in The Reader. She beat out Meryl Streep, who has won two Oscars during her career.
  4. Sean Penn won the best actor trophy for his starring role in Milk. He faced some competition from Mickey Rourke, who won last month's Golden Globes for his role in The Wrestler.

  1. Miley Cyrus already acts and sings, but the 16-year-old entertainer has additional ambitions: She wants to become a music producer. Cyrus says in VMAN magazine, "My goal is to become one of the most-wanted producers of 2010, so we have a whole year to get really good." Cyrus got her very own studio for her birthday last fall, so she already has the space to do some producing. Meanwhile, the Hannah Montana star is still spending time 20-year-old model Justin Gaston. In his interview with the magazine, Gaston talked about how much he admires Cyrus, explaining, "I look up to her. It's nice to have someone there who already knows what's going on. It helps you plan your next steps."
  2. The New Kids on the Block recently shot a video for their new single "2 In The Morning," According to People.com, Danny Wood is seen going through a "pretty creepy old house." He's joined by the rest of the gang: Joey McIntyre, Donnie Wahlberg and Jordan and Jonathan Knight. The clip features a storyline about a feuding couple and will debut February 23rd.
  3. While Heath Ledger's Oscar will eventually go to his daughter Matilda if he wins, the late actor's father might be accepting the award on his behalf. After arriving in Los Angeles ahead of Sunday's (February 22nd) ceremony, Kim Ledger told TMZ.com that if his late son is named best supporting actor, "I may say a few words." He added that although Heath's nomination for The Dark Knight made him "proud," attending the show on behalf of him is "bittersweet, obviously."

Timberlake was picked for his fashion influence, willingness to take risks and "knack for targeting trends," such as hats, three-piece suits, skinny ties and beards.
  2. The Red Hot Chili Peppers could extend their current hiatus by another year, or perhaps even longer, according to a new interview with drummer Chad Smith at musicradar.com. Smith had told the same website last fall that the band was taking a year-long break after completing the touring cycle for its 2006 album, Stadium Arcadium. But the drummer has now become more vague about the group's future plans, saying, "I think when we're all ready to play again, when we feel like it's time to be the Chili Peppers again, we'll do it."
  3. Mandy Moore is slowly starting to think about her wedding plans. She recently got engaged to singer-songwriter Ryan Adams and hopes to have a low-key ceremony.
  4. A man accused of stalking Celine Dion has been tossed in jail. According to Canadian website CTV.ca, police arrested the 41-year-old fan last Friday outside the gates of Dion's home in Canada. The man buzzed the intercom and demanded to see Dion, or her husband, Rene Angelil. When he refused to leave, security called police. He left the home by the time police showed up, but was found a short while later when he returned to the gates. He's undergoing psychiatric evaluation and will face harassment charges.

  1. U2 will perform for five nights in a row on CBS-TV's Late Show With David Letterman, beginning on Monday, March 2nd and ending on Friday, March 6th, according to Billboard.biz. The unprecedented stand will coincide with the release of the Irish band's new album, No Line On The Horizon, which arrives on Tuesday, March 3rd.
  2. Green Day will embark on a major world tour in support of its upcoming album, 21st Century Breakdown, beginning in July with a North American indoor arena trek. The latest news surrounding the highly-anticipated release comes as both MTV.com and Rolling Stone were given previews of six tracks from the 16-song set, which is tentatively due out on May 8th.
  3. Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher currently occupy the top two spots on PETA's annual "Worst Dressed" poll. The group told Us Weekly, "She may be a cougar, but that's not helping fur-loving Demi Moore in the eyes of animal lovers." Moore often dons fur at public events while her husband has received heat for wearing a coyote coat to the Sundance Film Festival last month. Voting continues until March 2nd on the organization's website, where Madonna, Jessica Simpson, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Kanye West, Lindsay Lohan, the Olsen Twins, Mary J. Blige, and Kate Moss can also be deemed the most animal-unfriendly dresser.

  1. The Fray's self-titled sophomore album debuted at Number One this week on the Billboard 100 chart, selling 179,000 copies in the United States and moving Bruce Springsteen out of the top slot. It marks the band's first chart-topping set. The Fray's previous album, How To Save A Life, peaked at Number 14th.
  2. The Jonas Brothers are working on a lot of different projects these days, but one they would like to be involved with is the New Moon, the sequel to the successful film Twilight. Nick Jonas tells MTV.com, "The movie was obviously a huge success, and if they asked us to be a part of (the sequel), that would be great. It would be really cool." He says they are big fans of Stephenie Meyer's vampire book series and would be willing to write a song for the New Moon soundtrack.
  3. Forget Evan Rachel Wood. The U.K.'s Daily Mirror claims that Mickey Rourke has "secretly seeing" Courtney Love for the past three weeks. The newspaper is reporting that Rourke first texted Love asking her on a date around the time of the Golden Globe Awards. On Monday, both attended the Elle Style Awards in London where Rourke was named best actor and Love the Elle Woman of the Year.

Pop star Rihanna has reportedly been cooperating with Los Angeles police, who are further investigating the early morning lover's spat last Sunday that ended with her in the hospital and 19-year-old boyfriend Chris Brown charged with making criminal threats. On Tuesday, the district attorney's office asked police to gather more information to bolster their case. A source close to the investigation told EOnline.com that Rihanna told police that Brown threatened to kill her and that she fears for her life. She claimed that he choked her while making the threat and she eventually lost consciousness.
  2. John Mayer reportedly has a special gift in store for Jennifer Aniston's 40th birthday today. They already celebrated with a big star-studded party over the weekend, but according to People.com, Mayer plans to serenade his girlfriend. A source tells People.com, "He did write a special song just for her for her birthday." Mayer is also working on material for his new album, tentatively titled Battle Studies, which is due out later this year.
  3. Forbes has determined that Will Smith is the most valuable actor in Hollywood. Considering data like box office draw and award nominations, Smith scored a perfect ten in the Forbes Star Currency survey. Johnny Depp, Brad Pitt, Leonardo DiCaprio, and Angelina Jolie all tied for second place while the rest of the top 20 include Tom Hanks, Denzel Washington, Meryl Streep, Jack Nicholson, and Matt Damon.

  2. Foo Fighters might be slowly coming out of the hiatus that frontman Dave Grohl imposed late last year, according to Spinner.com. Drummer Taylor Hawkins told the website, "We're writing, working on music intermittently. We've already got together and worked on a little bit of stuff, but very tenatively, just ideas. We're just gonna take our time."
  3. Green Day has confirmed that the band's new album is called 21st Century Breakdown and will be released in May.
  4. John Mayer won two awards at the Grammys on Sunday, but he also wanted to give recognition to fellow nominee Jason Mraz, whose hit song "I'm Yours" lost both Song of the Year and Best Male Pop Vocal Performance. Mayer ended up taking home the Best Male Pop Vocal Performance trophy for "Say" and Best Solo Rock Vocal Performance for "Gravity."   2. David Archuleta will perform the National Anthem at the NFL Pro Bowl in Hawaii Sunday. Last year's American Idol runner-up announced the news on his MySpace blog.
  3. Blink-182 will reunite to present an award at the 51st Annual Grammy Awards on Sunday night, according to MTV.com. It is not known which award the band will give out, but this will mark the first time that singer/guitarist Tom DeLonge, bassist Mark Hoppus and drummer Travis Barker have shared a stage since December of 2004.
  4. Nickelback frontman Chad Kroeger has abandoned his attempt to appeal a conviction for a three-year-old drunk driving charge. According to the Canadian Press, a similar appeal on constitutional grounds in another case was overturned, making it virtually impossible that Kroeger could get his conviction thrown out on the same grounds.

It's been nearly four years since the Denver rockers released their major-label debut How to Save a Life. Singer Isaac Slade says the band members work well together.   2. Coldplay has started recording its next album without singer Chris Martin. But that isn't as ominous as it sounds: Martin said the group starting laying down music at the suggestion of producer Brian Eno, who worked on the band's latest effort, Viva La Vida or Death and All His Friends.
  3. Miley Cyrus has traded in her mother's black Porsche for a brand new black Toyota Prius. In a new video blog, the 16-year-old star says she wanted to do away with the Porsche so she can have something more eco-friendly.
  4. Mandy Moore has apparently reunited with ex-boyfriend, singer Ryan Adams. The rocker posted a picture of Moore at lunch with him and some friends on his blog and sources confirmed to PerezHilton.com that the romance is back on.

Bruce Springsteen will be headlining the halftime show.
  2. Paris Hilton says she was thrilled to meet Lady Gaga earlier this week at a party in London. She tells MTV UK, "I don't usually get excited to meet anyone but Lady Gaga is her own thing, she knows what she's doing and her music is like no other.”
  3. American Idol has issued an apology to contestant Mark Mudd for suggesting that he threatened judges during an audition in Kentucky that aired last week. The judges seemed jumpy didn’t they.
  4. A stuntman working on the upcoming Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows film was hospitalized on Wednesday after suffering serious back injuries from an accident on set. As the 25-year-old was practicing an aerial sequence, a planned blast somehow went wrong and he crashed to the ground. Sources say he was unable to feel his legs.

  1. Coldplay and the Killers will co-headline a benefit concert in the U.K. next month for the War Child organization. The show will take place on February 18th, immediately after the Brit Awards, at the O2 Shepherds Bush Empire in London. Both groups will play a 45-minute set. All proceeds from the gig will go to War Child, which provides humanitarian assistance to war-affected children in some of the most devastated regions of the world.
  2. Ashlee Simpson-Wentz has taken to her blog to defend sister Jessica Simpson's recent weight gain. The move came after a slew of media outlets published photos of Jessica looking a bit more curvy than usual while performing at a radio-sponsored chili cookoff in Pembroke Pines, Florida.
  3. John Mayer will join Queen Latifah for an upcoming prime time Sesame Street special. According to Access Hollywood, he'll be educating children -- with the help of Elmo -- during a new children's program called "Coming Home: Military Families Cope With Change." The special will tell stories of military personnel returning home to their families "with injuries, visible and invisible." The 30-minute show airs April 1st on PBS.

  2. Katharine McPhee is working on her first album since her 2006 self-titled debut. According to Billboard.com, she plans to release the set before the end of the year for her new record label, Verve. The album is expected to show different sides of McPhee's talents and musical tastes.
  3. Rumors of a romance between 21-year-old Evan Rachel Wood and her 56-year-old The Wrestler co-star Mickey Rourke are heating up after the pair was spotted kissing during a SAG after party this past weekend.
  4. Big name stars including Lisa Kudrow, Sarah Jessica Parker and Susan Sarandon will be featured in NBC's upcoming series, Who Do You Think You Are? The Kudrow-produced program, which will lead celebrities on a journey of self-discovery as they unearth their family trees, will premiere on April 20th.
  5. Although it's been on the air since 2002, The Bachelor is actually seeing an increase in ratings during its current season. Entertainment Weekly reported yesterday that Monday night's show averaged 10.6 million viewers, which was an increase of 600,000 from the previous week.

  1. Kelly Clarkson is getting some songwriting help from Katy Perry. According to PerezHilton.com, Clarkson's rumored second single, called "I Do Not Hook Up," was written by Perry around three years ago, along with writer and American Idol judge Kara DioGuardi and producer Greg Wells.
  2. International pop star Rihanna could be under consideration to make an appearance in the next installment of the Charlie's Angels film franchise as a fourth angel. Producers Drew Barrymore and Nancy Juvonen are said to be mulling a third film after 2000's Charlie's Angels and 2003's Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle, which featured Barrymore, Cameron Diaz, and Lucy Liu in the title roles.
  3. John Mayer has scheduled his annual cruise with fans for March 27th through the 31st. The four-day, four-night vacation will leave from Port San Pedro in Los Angeles. The cruise will feature several other guest artists, including O.A.R. and Guster.
  4. Taylor Swift is apparently a long-time Britney Spears fan. In a new MySpace blog, the singer writes about how her mother rearranged her bathroom while she was in Los Angeles recently to film an episode of CSI. When she came back home, Swift quickly noticed that her mother did some rearranging and was "startled" when she realized her Spears poster was missing from its original spot.

  2. Hilary Duff will guest star on an upcoming episode of the Jennifer Love Hewitt series, Ghost Whisperer. According to UsMagazine.com, Duff will appear in the episode "Thrilled to Death," where she will play a beautiful woman of mystery who may be involved in the death of a man who was in a freak accident.
  3. Kevin Jonas says he and his brothers get along great with Taylor Swift. According to MTV.com, he talked about the Jonas Brothers' relationship with Swift in a recent radio interview. Although Joe Jonas dumped Swift last fall, Kevin says, "We are all friends with Taylor. We always have been friends with Taylor. She's a great girl, and she's an incredible musician."

  6. 30 Rock dominated the television comedy categories at Sunday night's Screen Actors Guild Awards, while Kate Winslet, Heath Ledger and Slumdog Millionaire further built their Oscar momentum on the movie side. Although she was named best supporting actress, Winslet lost out to Meryl Streep in the lead actress category, surprising no one more than a Streep herself, who pointed out she was wearing pants because she didn't bother to buy a gown for the occasion.

  1. The Oscar nominations were announced yesterday. Leading the pack with 13 nominations is the movie starring Brad Pitt, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button. Slumdog Millionaire made out with 10 nominations followed by 8 nominations for both the Dark Knight starring the late Heath Ledger and Milk. Hugh Jackman will host the big night on February 22nd.
  2. Pink and her ex-husband, motocross racer Carey Hart, have been spending a lot of time together these days, and some reports say they could be back together. Insiders say Carey has moved back in to Pink's Malibu, California home. The reported move follows several photos showing the pair getting cozy and spending quality time together.
  3. Amy Winehouse is doing much better these days, but her father Mitch says she came "close to death" twice during her worst moments. According to People.com, the details will be revealed in the upcoming British TV documentary Saving Amy.
  4. Miley Cyrus is speaking out about her relationship with the Jonas Brothers, including her ex-boyfriend, Nick Jonas. Despite rumors of them not getting along, Cyrus says she has no ill feelings toward Nick. Nice to know that kids can get along after their puppy love ends.
  5. Is Katy Perry a liar. No, but her recent quote was taken out of context. She recently said she`d remain celebate in 2009 but now says the comments were made in a joking manner. Perry adds, "Please ... celibacy for the whole year? I'd rather die." Perry is taking a step back, though, to make sure her next guy is a good one, explaining, "I guess I am just going to be looking for the right one."

According to UsMagazine.com, Perry said, "I've actually taken a vow of celibacy this year. No kissing anyone. Just my cat: Kitty Purry."
  2. Green Day fan website GreenDayAuthority.com has speculated that the band could be finished recording its still-untitled follow-up to 2004's American Idiot. The site reported that the trio has been recording since November at Ocean Way Recording in Hollywood, California, which was confirmed by the sight of reserved parking spaces for all three members.
  3. The nominees for the 81st annual Academy Awards are being announced this morning. It`s taking place at the Academy's Samuel Goldwyn Theater in Los Angeles.
  4. Mike Myers and Paris Hilton are among the leaders for this year's Razzie Awards. Hilton was recognized with giving two of the worst acting performances in 2008 for her roles in The Hottie and the Nottie and Repo: The Genetic Opera, while Myer's Love Guru racked up seven nominations, including worst picture and worst actor.

  2. The artist formerly known as Cat Stevens is going back to his straightforward songwriting style for his still-untitled new album, due in late spring. The artist's next disc will be the follow-up to 2006's An Other Cup.
  3. Shia LaBeouf's driver's license has been suspended as a result of his 2008 car crash. The suspension, which took effect on January 17th, is the result of the actor's "refusal of chemical tests" in the immediate aftermath of the accident.
  4. Mark Ruffalo is getting ready to come back to work a month after his brother died of a gunshot wound to the head. Although the actor dropped out of a film in the immediate aftermath of Scott Ruffalo's tragic death, E! Online reports that next week he will begin work on the film Sympathy for Delicious, which he will direct and star in.

Bruce Springsteen opened the show like an old-style revival with his song ``The Rising.'' U-2 performed two songs.
  2. The Jonas Brothers are fired up to perform at an inaugural event today -- and if the Obama girls have time, take them on for a rematch in ping-pong. The Jonas Brothers will perform at the ``Kids' Inaugural Concert'' in Washington tonight. The Jonas Brothers met the Obama sisters backstage at ``Ellen'' recently. Nick Jonas says the girls beat him in ping-pong.
  3. Things are moving quickly on ``The Bachelor''. As tonight's episode begins, there are 12 women left. When the program is finished two hours later, three of those women will have their hearts broken.

  1. Britney Spears is apparently a big fan of Katy Perry's music. According to Spears' official website, she's been listening to Perry's debut album, One of the Boys, ever since she bought it when she was home in Kentwood, Louisiana over the holidays. Spears' friend offered to burn her the CD but she was so excited she wanted to buy it herself.

  2. Aerosmith has been forced to cancel its February 1st headlining gig in Venezuela due to lead guitarist Joe Perry having to undergo emergency surgery on his knee, according to a statement issued by the band's publicist. Perry has to have the operation to correct unforeseen complications, possibly an infection, that resulted from a previous surgery on the same knee last year. Perry had a complete knee replacement done in March of 2008 after putting the procedure off for two years while Aerosmith fulfilled tour commitments.

  3. Amanda Bynes dumped her boyfriend Doug Reinhart, Us Weekly magazine revealed yesterday. The actress began dating the baseball player -- made famous by his short stint on The Hills as Lauren Conrad's boyfriend -- in late 2008.

  4. Lance Armstrong reportedly plans to marry the woman carrying his child. In Touch Weekly claims that the cyclist asked girlfriend Anna Hansen to marry him during a recent trip to Hawaii.

  5. Rumors have again surfaced that Johnny Depp is planning to tie the knot with longtime girlfriend Vanessa Paradis. MTV UK reports that the couple is planning a low-key affair this spring at their chateau in France.

  3. Katy Perry opened up about her recent split from Gym Class Heroes' frontman Travis McCoy at an acoustic show Monday night at L.A.'s Hotel Cafe. She told the crowd that "it hurts right now," adding, "When you break up with someone, you move on. You don't really want to move on ... but you have to because they don't give you any choice."
  4. David Cook and his girlfriend, former American Idol contestant Kimberly Caldwell, have parted ways. A rep told In Touch magazine, "Kimberly and David ended their relationship just before the holidays.   5. Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck have named their newborn girl Seraphina Rose Elizabeth Affleck. The actress's rep revealed the child's name a week after her January 6th birth. The couple also has another daughter, three-year-old Violet.

  4. Jennifer Garner gave birth to a baby girl yesterday in Los Angeles. This is the second child for Garner and Ben Affleck. The couple also has a three-year-old daughter named Violet.

  5. Queen Latifah, who will host tonight's People's Choice Awards ceremony, will also continue as a Jenny Craig spokeswoman. The weight loss company issued a statement Tuesday to dispel any notions that the singer and actress won't be along for the ride in 2009.
