- Katy Perry has been tapped to host this year's MTV Europe Music Awards in Liverpool on November 6th. The "I Kissed a Girl" singer is also up for two awards -- Best New Act and Most Addictive Track.
- Sarah McLachlan is back on the charts with her new single "U Want Me 2." The track appears on her latest greatest hits album, which features her hit singles, along with two new songs. The Canadian singer is happy about the success she's had over the years, but says she doesn't write songs based on whether or not they will be radio hits.
- Confirming recent reports that Green Day has finally begun working on the official follow-up to 2004's American Idiot, the band has posted footage filmed in the recording studio online. Just a few snippets of music can be heard in the 45-second clip.
