- Nickelback has never been loved by critics but has found an ally in someone who's frequently a favorite of the music press: Coldplay singer Chris Martin. Martin said he has nothing but respect for the band. Nickelback enjoys a massive worldwide following and has sold millions of records, but many music journalists express intense dislike for the band.
- Rob Thomas still can't believe the success of his 1999 duet with Santana on the smash hit song "Smooth." The song won three Grammy Awards, including Record of the Year, Song of the Year and Best Pop Collaboration with Vocal. And according to Billboard.com, it's the second most popular of all time -- second only to Chubby Checker's "The Twist."
- Nicole Richie can legally drive again. A year after her DUI conviction, the Los Angeles Department of Motor Vehicles has officially changed the status of her license from 'suspended' to 'restricted.' In the aftermath of her arrest, Richie has spent 82 minutes in jail and completed an 18-month anti-DUI course. A restricted license allows Richie to use her car for work-related purposes.
- House star Hugh Laurie was recently the victim of a home burglary. A rep for the actor confirmed that an incident took place and sources claim that the burglary occurred while the actor and his wife were asleep in their Hollywood Hills home. A laptop computer is believed to be missing.
