  3. As he wraps up his directing on the upcoming Star Trek re-boot, J.J. Abrams is now thinking about a big earthquake. Per the Hollywood Reporter, Abrams and David Seltzer, screenwriter of the original Omen film, are working on a disaster movie about a devastating quake. Details are sketchy, but Universal says it will not be a remake of the studio's 1974 production Earthquake. For now, Abrams only plans to produce the quake flick. The new Star Trek movie is due in theaters next May.
