- Coldplay's record label, EMI Music, has shot down reports in the British tabloids that the band plans to quickly issue two more albums so that it can complete its contract and exit the company. The Sun and the Telegraph reported on Thursday that the quartet intended to issue another set of new material in 2009, to be followed by a greatest hits collection, in order to finish its six-album deal.
- Gwen Stefani and her husband Gavin Rossdale welcomed their second child Thursday afternoon. Zuma Nesta Rock weighed in at 8 pounds 5 ounces.
- Britney Spears is gearing up for her next album, and rumor has it, she may seek the expertise of her ex-boyfriend Justin Timberlake. The two were supposedly going to pair up on her last release in 2007, but Spears dropped the ball after missing recording sessions with Timbaland.
- The release date for the new James Bond movie, Quantum of Solace, has been pushed back a week. Bond producers decided to take advantage of Warner Bros.' decision to move Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince from a November 21st release date to next summer. Quantum of Solace will now open on November 14th, moving it a week closer to the American Thanksgiving weekend.
